In the face of many lineup changes, Matt Baird has kept Spoken's legacy going and hard rock fans couldn't be happier. "Breathe Again" displays a band as relevant as they've ever been--hopefully the rest of the album follows suit.

Spoken is an interesting band that has evolved with the times. While many bands can't handle the change, Spoken has thrived in it. Matt Baird has continuously improved his vocals over time and the music has remained relevant to current trends. 2015 will see Matt Baird with complete creative control as the group is releasing their first independent record. It will be fascinating to see if Matt continues the band's evolution, or if he goes back towards his roots with a slightly heavier approach.

Spoken was one of those bands that won me over with their live show. But with this next project, last-man-standing original member Matt Baird has promised a new sound and a worshipful direction. It should be interesting to see where this now-trio goes next...
