They said you'll do great things someday
You'll build kingdoms you'll light the way
But I've jumped through hoops both low and high
To win a crown that won't satisfy

Oh I've run so far after what's not mine
But in the quiet You remind

God is going to shape me into the likeness of Christ
He's going to grow me fill me redeem my life
God is going to draw me into His embrace
Not for greatness but to reflect His grace

I thought it was the mountains I must climb
But You were in the valley all this time
Not a throne but a heart made new
Not the world but the work You do

Oh I've laid it down dreams that weren't true
Now I rest in the promise of You

God is going to shape me into the likeness of Christ
He's going to grow me fill me redeem my life
God is going to draw me into His embrace
Not for greatness but to reflect His grace

Not for fame not for pride
But to walk with You by my side
Not for power not for show
But to know You more than I've ever known

God is going to shape me into the likeness of Christ
He's going to grow me fill me redeem my life
God is going to draw me into His embrace
Not for greatness but to reflect His grace

So let the world fade let the striving cease
All I want is to rest in Your peace
God You're going to shape me day by day
Until Your love is the only way
