If your Tooth & Nail fandom is more centered around the post-2003 or so artists, then you probaby won't find yourself too familiar with The Blamed (except maybe having heard a song or two from Give Us Barabbas). And why would you, really? Their brand of hardcore punk isn't much like the Anberlins, Emerys, and Classic Crimes of that era. But if heavier punk rock is your thing, then you already know who you're dealing with, and you know that 21 was a shining moment in their relatively brief career. An under-the-radar release by most means, it's an album that helped define the T&N label in the 90s, and made The Blamed a force to be reckoned with. The band seems to be on the verge of a reunion (they already have a new song out), so it might be a good idea to revisit their discography in anticipation of the new release. Make sure you give 21 a fair listen!
