We might be going out on a bit of a limb placing Chapman here; the SCC camp has released no official word on releasing an album this calender year. However, thanks to our Red Carpet interview, we know it is coming, and we also know SCC will be venturing into the trepidatious territory of worship music. As a fan that has long viewed Mr. Chapman as my favorite artist, it is hard not to be both excited and a little fearful about the final result.

Chapman, an elder statesman in the Christian music world, puts his heart into everything he's ever done. After seeing his sons open for Needtobreathe all year, and confessing his love for that band, it would be awesome to see him go organic and rootsy instead of polished and shined.

While I have to echo Mark's nervousness over Chapman finally making a corporate worship album, I'm more than eager to hear his take on the overly saturated genre. I find my heart time and again connecting with the lyrics of Chapman throughout the past couple decades and I'm sure this will continue for me on some level with Chapman's next entry.

Known for being one of the oldest leaders of the CCM industry, Steven Curtis Chapman has consistently delivered for nearly three decades. His influence has shaped much of the music industry and the magnitude of his discography has seldom seen a drop in quality. His last few albums have been especially well-received and this next release is perfectly prepped to do no different.
