Bright colors fade and lights go out. And I’m left here overwhelmed by doubt. The man I’ve worked so hard to portray is far from who I am today… Their eyes are watching I want to perform. How they expect even if to conform. Should I be upfront and confess? But I’m not willing to clean up the mess…All for the chance to add a few more seconds to this dance. To be a shooting star in the night. I’ll forfeit the truth of who it is that really stands in my shoes. For a little more time in the limelight…The years have passed since my deeds were revealed. And the wounds have started to heal. The things I thought were too important to lose have been exchanged for a sense of the truth…All for the chance to add a few more seconds to this dance. To be a shooting star in the night. I’ll forfeit the truth of who it is that really stands in my shoes. For a little more time in the limelight…

Behind the Song:
“Limelight is pretty straight forward lyrically because it is based on a true story. It deals with the person who is leading a double life. The person becomes so concerned with people’s opinions that he does whatever it takes to be accepted, to not rock the boat. I found that I spent most of my energy trying to keep people from finding out that I was a big phony. It took years to realize that I should have been using that energy trying to be an authentic person.” - Geoff
