#4. Deas Vail
untitled

Release Date: Sometime 2011
Following one critically acclaimed release after another, Deas Vail look to continue their success with their fourth full-length album. If the band’s previous work is any indication, expect another excellent collection of melodic piano rock driven by lead singer Wes Blaylock’s unmistakable light tone. While the band’s style is sometimes reminiscent of a more upbeat Copeland, Deas Vail’s talent is evident and they stand alone at the top of their genre.
        - John "Flip" Choquette

Hopefully 2011 is the year Deas Vail starts to get some much-deserved recognition. These guys (and girl) have gotten into the habit of cranking out some great indie-rock magic, so here's hoping that continues into the new year.
        - Timothy Estabrooks

Birds & Cages was one of the best records of 2009, and it’s not that hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that this indie rock band could deliver another gem.
        - Nathaniel Schexnayder

Deas Vail has been super busy in the past few years, releasing something every year since 2005, yet is still one of those bands that flies just underneath the radar. Birds & Cages was my first introduction to their music, and I plan to catch up on the work of this piano-indie band in time for their new release this year.
        - Jen Rose

It seems like it took forever for the follow-up to All The Houses Look The Same to perch, but Birds & Cages was indeed a piano rock achievement upon its landing. The resurrected label Mono Vs Stereo made a smart move to grab Deas Vail, and I suspect we'll only reap more benefits from this signing...
