For our 6th annual Highlighting feature, we've done things a little differently. Normally, we select our top 25 most anticipated releases for the whole year, but we realize that it's tough to really gauge EVERYTHING that may release throughout a given year when we're making the list in January. So, for 2012, we've split the year into TWO pieces -- January to June and June to December. Also, we're making each list 15 artists/releases for a total of 30 in 2012.

We've already selected the first fifteen artists, so please click here to check those out. Without further ado, we give you Highlighting Second-Half 2012!

#4. Tal & Acacia
Black & White

Release Date: Fall 2012
Tal & Acacia's debut was a sadly under-noticed summer pop gem of 2009, but they quickly became a JFH favorite. Though they seemed to disappear as soon as they came, the emergence of a Kickstarter campaign for a follow-up release shows signs of life. I'm looking forward to hearing this sister duo's new indie adventure.

What can we say? We were suckers for the delectable sounds and charming vocals of sisters Tal & Acacia when Wake Me debuted. Now the two are independent and from the early demo work on Black & White, I'm finding it hard not to get really excited for their new record. Support these girls, friends! Great stuff is ahead...
        - John DiBiase

My vote for 2009's best new artist, Tal & Acacia are finally back in action after returning to the independent ranks. Their underpromoted debut Wake Me on Essential Records was heaping with potential, and we were nothing but ecstatic when their still-ongoing Kickstarter campaign fell on our radar. Should it get fully-funded, we immensely look forward to Black & White's pleasurable indie pop melodies this November.
        - Roger Gelwicks

Tal and Acacia blew me away with their debut album, Wake Me, and I've been looking forward to their next release for quite some time now. Thankfully, that time has come! Here's hoping that there won't be any "sophomore slump" for these ladies.
