Quite simply, this is Relient K's magnum opus. A huge step forward from their prior releases that leaned more punk with goofy lyrics,
Mmhmm was the sound of the band growing up. Piano was featured more highly throughout, and Matt Thiessen skewed a little more serious with a little fun on the side. There truly isn't a filler song among them, and "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been" is a masterpiece of a song and my favorite overall track from the band's entire catalogue. Also, the transition from "Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet" to "Let It Out" is still maybe my favorite one-two punch of songs that they have ever done. This one stays in the regular rotation a few times a year at the very least.
Mmhmm is quite easily a top 20 CCM album of all-time.
